Ever try to find fun places to go with your pets? I have two dogs and we like to take them with us when we travel. Since I like to go to gardens to see the flowers and to historical sites, it is often difficult since many do not allow dogs. However, to my surprise there are some that do allow pets on a leash. The next garden I would like to visit is the Elizabethian Gardens near Roanoke Island in North Carolina. Dogs are allowed on leash for a small fee. I have always enjoyed reading historical fiction and non-fiction about Elizabeth I. I even took two courses in college about the Tudors so I am eager to see the garden with my dogs. If you have a favorite garden that you have visited that is pet friendly, let me know. I would love to check it out.
Recently I have enjoyed exploring gardens in the Maryland area. This summer I have visited gardens in St. Michaels, Maryland, Ladew Topiary Gardens in Baltimore, Maryland, St. Mary's City, Maryland and gardens in and around Charleston, South Carolina . I love seeing the different flowers and am trying to learn the names of the ones that I take photographs of. If you have a favorite garden in the metro area, let me know. I think I will be visiting one this weekend and will post something later this weekend. Debbie |
